Get To Know Me
I am a Christian, mom of 5, a Certified Birth Doula and a trained Child Birth Educator. I am a coffee lover, a plant hoarder, and a homesteader in the making. We have a small property in Mission, BC., and when I'm not working with clients, or spending time with my husband & kids, I'm gardening or taking care of my goats, chickens, and goose (Harrison). My passion is serving people, whether it be my family, my friends, or my clients. I love the Lord, I believe life is sacred, I think our freedom is important, and I believe everyone should have the right to choose what goes in or on their bodies without manipulation or coercion. I'm not the right doula for everyone and that is okay. If you think I would be a good fit for you, please feel free to reach out.

What started me on the path to becoming a doula?
My interest in birth started when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby. I jumped head first into learning all I could about pregnancy and childbirth. However, it was the actual experience of giving birth and that delivery day that taught me some valuable lessons. I learned how amazing yet unpredictable birth can be. I learned how important it is to know your options and to trust your instincts and your care providers. I learned how important it is to prepare for the unexpected, and to advocate for yourself and your baby. These lessons helped me when I delivered my next babies and honestly, during each birth I have learned something new. Childbirth is a growing experience. I believe it is one of the biggest ways we grow as mothers. We learn patience, we sacrifice our bodies, go through pain and do it all for the precious little ones we are carrying. They are gifts and they are 100% worth any struggle we may go through.
Why did I became a doula?
So many reasons!!! If I had to choose just one, the biggest reason is that I want to support women and their families. I know how tough pregnancy can be, I know what its like to be unsure about yourself and what you are experiencing. I have had my deliveries go differently than I had planned and I have experienced many challenges during the postpartum period. I believe God brought me through those struggles so that I could learn from them and help other people avoid those issues or skip those struggles all together.
When did I become a doula?
I decided to pursue doula training after being asked by one of my closest friends to support her during the birth of her son. That was such an incredibly special day. My friend showed so much strength and witnessing the miracle of her baby's birth is something I will never forget. Soon after, I signed up to do my DONA Birth Doula Training . After completing that I certified with Birth Arts International and started my company, Supported Beginnings Doula Services. Since then, I have been working with clients, and continuing to learn and do additional training. My goal is to support families and make their transition to parenthood as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I would love to get together with you and see how I can best support you as you enter this new chapter in your life.
